By combining their wide range of influences, songwriting duo Hilden Park are carving out their own niche within rock music. Their songs have been described as ‘a journey’, with each track containing a wide emotional and dynamic range.
The music of Hilden Park is brought to the stage with the help of musicians Max Morton, Arthur Mcdonald and Ben Summers, each contributing massively to the live arrangements and performance of the music.
Mike’s Lyrics seamlessly flow between phases of typical ‘human’ experiences, to an almost existential level of self reflection. The lyrics of tracks like ‘Remains’ and ‘The Sky, My Mind, The Same’ address the relationships between different people, and how one’s own pride can blind you to the harm you deal to others. Contrastingly, tracks like ‘Evermore’ strive to personify abstract concepts like eternity, using deep and complex verse to verse relationships to demonstrate this.

Ryan’s guitar playing and arrangements heavily contribute to the overall atmosphere of the music by adding layers that compliment the other instruments, while providing the hard-hitting, introspective undertones required to make the tracks feel complete. His work in songs like ‘The Fall’ allow his guitar to gradually build throughout the music before reaching a heavier climax towards the end that feels ‘earned’ by its consistent work in the main sections of the track.
